Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Frederick Ma Si-hang warned yesterday that the government has zero tolerance for unlawful acts.

Ma said that those who took part in Sunday's broadcast on Citizens' Radio will be prosecuted once sufficient evidence has been gathered. He said the government has issued a number of summonses to Citizens' Radio in the past.

Office of the Telecommunications Authority officials were present at the Mong Kok pedestrian zone on Sunday when five pan-democrat lawmakers took part in the broadcast.

It was the first time in three months the unlicensed station went on air on the FM 102.8 MHz frequency. The three-month, off-air truce was declared by the station for the government to review the Telecommunications Ordinance.

Non-action from the government, however, forced Citizens' Radio to go on air on Sunday, the station said.

Citizens' Radio founder and head Tsang Kin-shing said they will not resist if they are arrested, adding that Ma's words will not stop them from planning another live broadcast at Times Square in Causeway Bay.
